Scope and Contents

The George T. Knott Collection documents the academic life and aviation interests of George Thomas Knott, a student of Parks College who graduated in Aviation Mechanical Engineering in 1948. Many of the materials date from the 1930s and 1940s—a pivotal time that provides insight on aeronautics during World War II, as well as the decade when the school merged with Saint Louis University. Highlights of the collection include Knott's Academics, which details his enrollment and coursework requirements. The Photographs include images of Parks College, pilots and flights, as well as models of airplanes, fighters, bombers, and warplanes designed for the Armed Forces during WWII by various aircraft companies. The Publications include sets of news issues from Parks College from the 1930s onwards, many of which are centered on aspects of World War II.
