Biography

George Thomas Knott, a 1948 engineering graduate of Parks College of Aeronautical Technology, was born April 4, 1921 to Lloyd and Jessie Knott. Raised in Minnesota, he graduated from Bemidji High School in 1939 and afterwards entered the armed forces during WWII. After the war, he enrolled in Parks College of Aeronautical Technology in 1946. While at school, he was an active member of the Camera Club and maintained an interest in aviation photography. In 1948, he graduated with a B.S. in Aviation Mechanical Engineering from Parks College, which had merged into Saint Louis University in 1946. He married Mary West in 1954, lived in the state of Washington, worked for Northwest Airlines, and retired in 1986. He died in 2004 and was buried in Greenwood Cemetary in Bemidji Cemetary.
