Scope and Contents
This collection includes a variety of traditional textiles from Bosnia and Herzegovina that exhibit traditional fabric, construction, styles, and motifs. Items include weaving samples, slippers (čarape or priglavke), and clothing. It also includes miscellaneous personal items.
Many of them are handmade by the women in collective civic organizations called Udruženje građana – žene muslimanke ‘Sumejja’

Sumejja – An everywoman figure named for Sumayyah bint Khayyat, who is historically recognized in islamic tradition as the first female martyr

Bag woven with red, green, black, and white fibers with a foldover flap; decorative multi-colored puff in upper interior corner.
Single 9 x 9 compartment; 9 x 18 inches (laid flat); single crocheted strap with 12-inch drop. Pom-pom is 3.5 inches.
