Bosnian Textiles
Scope and Contents
This collection includes a variety of traditional textiles from Bosnia and Herzegovina that exhibit traditional fabric, construction, styles, and motifs. Items include weaving samples, slippers (čarape or priglavke), and clothing.
Many of them are handmade by the women in collective civic organizations called Udruženje građana – žene muslimanke ‘Sumejja’

Žene muslimanke – Musim women
Sumejja – An everywoman figure named for Sumayyah bint Khayyat, who is historically recognized in islamic tradition as the first female martyr
