Black Eye - zine, published in New York City by an unknown author. Anti-authoritarian, anarchist, atheist, and anti-capitalist in focus.
Blue Ryder - zine, published in Olean, New York by Ken Wagner. The zine, with unknown dates of publication. Consists primarily of essays reprinted from other zines, underground newspapers, and other alternative publications. All reprints include the logo of the original publication and contact information.
Chakra - zine, published by the Freelance Press in New York City. Edited by Liz Camps and Richard Behrens. Focused primarily on sexuality and erotica, and including both stories and erotic drawings.
Food for Thought - zine, edited by R. Seth Friedman in New York City. Concerned with American politics and cultural, taking a generally anti-authoritarian viewpoint. Also includes recipes.
An Introduction to Anarcho-Feminism - pamphlet with two essays, written by Laura Lib, originally published in Love and Rage. Pamphlet published in New York City. Focused on the development of a revolutionary women's movement inspired by anarchist and feminist principles.
Justicia - newsletter published by Genesee Ecumenical Ministries Judicial Press Commission and edited by Clare Regan. GEM was an association of Protestant and Catholic religious institutions near Rochester, New York. Articles are focused on social justice and community activism, and are particularly concerned with the institutionalized effects of racism.
Lies of Our Times - magazine published between 1990 and 1994 by Sheridan Square Press and distributed by the Institute for Media Analysi, Inc. The magazine was focused on media criticism in general, but specially concerned itself with the biases and innaccuracies of the New York Times. The "lies" objected to by the magazine "are more than literal falsehoods; they encompass subjects that have been ignored, hypocrisies, misleading emphases, and hidden premises - the biases that systematically shape reporting."
Lower East Side Class War Organizer - zine published in New York City by an unknown author. Anti-authoritarian and anti-capitalist in nature, with articles on anarchism, gentrification, and similar topics.
Love and Rage - anarchist newspaper, published in New York City by the Love and Rage Network. The bilingual paper began publication in April 1990 and ceased publication in 1998. The newspaper was focused on anarchism, anti-authoritarianism, societal oppression, autonomism, and other generally leftist, radical issues. Took a strong activist position, and members of the network were often involved in public demonstrations and other activities. The newspaper did not stick strictly to anarchist ideology, but incorporated more generally Marxist and anti-oppressive viewpoints as well.
Media Blitz - zine, published in New York City by Greg K. Manzanar Schmeggma. Includes media criticism and articles on anarchism and anti-authoritarianism. Also included articles on music, particularly punk and skinhead bands. Unknown date range of publication
Mugshots and Memories - booklet containing essays and articles on anarchist Emma Goldman. Published by the Libertarian Book Club, New York City, 1993.
The Network Bulletin of the Love and Rage Network - newsletter published by the Love and Rage Network, New York City. Includes updates on network activities and local and national anarchist events.
Nomadic Folk - zine, published by Fly Johnson in New York City. The zine was "intended to create discussion, spaces for ideas and knowledge to be exchanged on the street," and was concerned with anarchism, anti-authoritarianism, environmentalism, economics, squatting, and similar topics. Unknown date range of publication.
Overthrow - underground newspaper, published by the Youth International Party, New York City. Youth and counterculture oriented, anti-government and conspiracist focus. Articles were concerned with politics, economics, culture, environmentalism, and social oppression, among other topics.
Plain Words - underground newspaper published in Paterson, New Jersey by the Paterson Anarchist Collective. Strongly anarchist in tone and focused on local social, political, and economic issues, with sections for national news from an anarchist perspective.
Raw/Idea - zine, published by Nicholas Penalosox in Buffalo, New York. Generally anti-authoritarian and counterculture in nature, with articles in protest of homosexual oppression, the government's handling of the AIDS crisis, and similar topics.
ROAR! - advertising flyer for The Paper Tiger Television Guide to Media Activism, published in New York City
The Shadow - underground newspaper, founded in New York City in 1989. Anti-authoritarian, anti-police, anti-military. Primarily concerned with local political and economic issues
Special Bulletin on Asian Americans for Equal Employment - newletter published by the organization Asian Americans for Equal Employment (AAFEE), an advocacy group based in New York for Chinese immigrants who faced job discrimination. The publication is in both English and Mandarin Chinese [added to collection August 2025]
Stop the War! - anti-war newspaper published by the National Coalition to Stop U.S. Intervention in the Middle East, New York City. No date provided, but appears to be referring to the First Gulf War.
War in the Neighborhood - cover of graphic novel by Seth Tobocman, published in New York City by Autonomedia. Cover states tha it is "A Story of People in Struggle"
Wide Awake in America - collection of comic strips by Jeff Jarka, published by Stigmata Features Syndicate, Metuchen, New Jersey. Primarily anti-war, though also critical of the American educational and political systems.
Worker's Vanguard - newspaper published by the Spartacist League of the U.S. in New York City. A Marxist working class bi-weekly, with articles protesting American imperialism, domestic politics and economics, and oppressive social structure in the U.S. and internationally.
World War III Illustrated - political comic magazine published by World War 3 Illustrated, Inc., and edited by Seth Tobocman and Peter Kuper, among others. Anti-war, anti-authoritarian, and anti-imperialist in focus. Includes both comics and articles. The magazine was founded in 1980, and is still published biannually as of 2014.
