This collection contains one item, the index of the library of Jeremiah W. Clemens, January, 1887. Books marked J.M. were from the library of John Mullanphy and were purchased from his estate by James Clemens, Jr.  James was born 29 October 1791 and died 12 January 1878. He married Eliza Mullanphy, youngest daughter of John. Their son was Jeremiah, who died unmarried on 23 April 1894. In the index, certain markings indicate books given to Saint Louis University in August of 1886, while other markings indicate books in packing boxes to be left in the charge of the University.
