Abstract

Mr. Patrick McCarthy, former Pius Library staff member and current director of the Medical Center Library, was much involved with refugees to St. Louis from the former Yugoslavia.  Patrick made the acquaintance of Ivo Sivric, a priest at St. Joseph's Croatian Catholic Church in the city. Sivric gave McCarthy for deposit in the University Archives his material on the alleged Marian apparitions and miracles in Medjugorge, Sivric's native village in Yugoslavia. Sivric had written a book calling the authenticity of these phenomena into question. The collection consists of clippings, correspondence, and other research materials on the Medjugorje story. This collection has only 1 series: 1. Subject Files.
