H.J. Hagen Manuscript Collection [DOC MSS 8]
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of two volumes of lecture notes, possibly written by a Father H. J. Hagen. Hagen was a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Belleville in Illinois in 1883. The notes in these volumes are written in German and are on the topics of Church history and theology. They evidently are based on the work of a German Jesuit, Father Hartmann Grisar, S. J. (1845-1932). How and when these volumes made their way to Saint Louis University is unknown.
