The Daniel A. Lord, S.J. Collection contains pamphlets, children's materials, plays, music, and articles written to educate the public about Catholicism and Catholic life in the first half of the 20th century. Many of the materials were written by the Jesuit priest Daniel A. Lord himself, a prolific writer associated with Saint Louis University who published hundreds of documents and guides from the 1920s to 1950s teaching both children and adults about Catholic conduct and faith. The collection contains more than 400 pamphlets on Catholic life, and the Children's Materials reveal Lord's interest in teaching and guiding younger populations in their spiritual growth. The personal series contains biographical information, clippings, a prayer card, and an award which provides insight on Lord's career and publications.
