Scope and Contents

The Agnes M. Schumacher Manuscript Collection is comprised of material related to coursework completed by Agnes during her study at Saint Louis University from 1927 to 1931. Included in the collection are accounting texts, accounting and ethics problems, lecture notes, several publications, and various personal items. Other items include a grade report and two photos.

An item of particular interest in the Publications series are two issues of THE DAILY RADIO PRESS, a newsprint from a cruise of the Great Lakes taken by Agnes in 1933. The paper lists the daily entertainment schedule and ship activities and also includes top news reports and sports updates. An updated passenger list is also printed.

The Agnes M. Schumacher Manuscript Collection offers the researcher a general idea of the coursework required for students of the Commerce and Finance School for the four levels of study between 1927-1931.

Method of Acquisition

Agnes Schumacher's papers were brought to the University by Frank Aufmuth, a former student worker in the Archives. Mr. Aufmuth brought the papers at the request of Schumacher's daughter and his Mother-in-law, Barb Unterreiner.
