Scope and Contents

This series contains photographs and slide film taken and collected by Nathan B. Young Jr. The photographs primarily consist depict the Young family, locations around St. Louis, and NBY’s paintings. The individuals listed in many of the photographs are not identified; some older photographs may have been historical photographs collected by Nathan B. Young Jr., rather than members of his family. The slide film depicts photographs that NBY took during various trips, including Europe, Cape Cod, Mexico, and the John Brown Memorial Park in Kansas.

Box 28: Mounted photographs. Includes family and personal photographs, several with identified individuals written on the back. Also contains one folder of tintype photographs (subjects unidentified).

Box 29: Photographic prints. Includes family and personal photographs, as well as photographs of Young’s paintings. Contains one original photograph of Young as an infant.

Binder 2: Personal and family photographs. Includes some slides of Tivoli and Assisi, Italy.
