Notable items include: correspondence on his rank and title (particularly his desire to be associate professor of anthropology rather than of sociology--6-1-55), possible positions at the University of Notre Dame and Rosary College. Also here is a letter from Spitzer to J. Barry McGannon, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, outlining his activities in Australia on a Fulbright grant (3-20-63).
