The materials consist of information about religious organizations associated with Mount Carmel and the Carmelites from 1940 to 1973.

Included here are: an explanation of the aims of the Third Order of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St. Theresa and of the obligations of its members (5-31-40); a copy of Allen Spitzer's "My Road to the Church," published in _Mount Carmel_ magazine (1941-42); a note from Dorothy Day of _The Catholic Worker_ suggesting people for Allen to contact (6-5-48); minutes of the meetings of the Third Order Secular of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel and St. Theresa of Jesus in St. Louis (5-17-70 to 5-20-73); religious cards; and Xerox copies of photographs of St. Therese of Lisieux, the originals of which form part of the Allen Spitzer Photograph Collection.
