Adbusters, 1992
Scope and Contents
Adbusters is a Canadian publication, created and distributed by the Adbusters Media Foundation in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Adbusters Media Foundation, founded in 1989, is a "global network of artists, activities, writers, pranksters, students, educators, and entrepreneurs who want to advance the new social activist movement of the inforamtion age," and is especially notable for initiating the Occupy Wall Street protest in 2011. The bi-monthly publication, which is supported by readers and has a circulation of over 120,000, is committed to challenging consumerism and promoting radical social activism.
